What is Healthy Eating?

Your body needs proper nutrition to stay active and be healthy. Healthy eating will help you get the right balance of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to help you feel your best and have plenty of energy.

Eating healthy simply means having foods that:

  • Aid in the growth of the body
  • Improve functions of the body
  • Provide protection from diseases
  • Help in building a strong immune system

This can be achieved by adding more fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains to our daily meals and cutting back on foods that have a lot of fat, salt, and sugar.

To understand what we mean by healthy eating, its important to note that healthy eating is not a diet. Diets are temporary. Healthy eating means making smart, nutritious food choices you can live with and enjoy for the rest of your life.
